Dammit, we needed to buy a space heater, all MADE IN CHINA!
Every damn one we looked at in three different stores. Space heaters, made in China, every one of them. This country is completely fucked. Just once Id' like to purchase something other than a Gibson guitar, (can't heat my home with it unless I toss it in the fireplace). that was manufactured right here in the U.S. God help us all...

15. If you buy one from a thrift store, make sure it's safe.
If you buy one from a thrift store, make sure it's safe.

Space heaters are all-too-often respsonsible for starting
fires when they tip over, have curtains draped over them,
or have something splashed/dropped onto them.

Newer space heaters have (more) safety features that help
mitigate these risks ("tip-over switches", over-temperature
cut-offs, and the like); on many older space heaters, you
won't find any safety features at all.

That's not to say that older heaters can't be used safely,
but you'll need to take, proportionally, much more care
with them. Don't lose your life or your household to your
desire to avoid Chinese goods.

6. About half
both of my current bicycles content is domestic.

Power train parts, not so much. The tires are Dutch, the frames American made.

7. This is why we need to keep the internet free
any kind of traffic shaping regulations will be really harmful..

You can use the internet to subvert the BoxBox stores of the world and buy product made in the USA you can also use it to sell products but if dollars start to shape traffic forget about it..

8. I was shocked the other day
when I happened to check the tag on a new mattress cover I had purchased and realized it was actually manufactured in the USA. Very sad that that was a shocking and rare event.

12. Hey, the cheap crappy goods are supposed to make you forget your
...wages are stagnant.

Another way to make a living is to provide service to H1B visa workers! Even thought their wages would be lower than that paid to an American (and we know that qualified American workers just don't exist anymore since we have such a stellar public school system, paychecks are considerably higher than the Wal-Mart and burger slinging jobs produced in this country.

17. Simplicity vacuums are made near here in Missouri
I want to get rid of this pos vacuum I've been using, and for the last couple of weeks I've been seeing advertisements for the simplicity vacuum made in Missouri. I don't know about the quality, but it's got to be better than this dust spewing chinese crap we've been using.
