Edwards Plays a Major Role in this Primary
(Yes, I know this is about the Primary -- but, the Debate is on CNN now, so I think this is a GD issue)

He drives the important issues for debate; he (and Kucinich, earlier on) has done this consistently.

He acts almost as a mediator for the other two big wigs, and in the meantime, helps put the issues back front and center.

I, for one, hope he can stay in the game.

Can you imagine the outcome of this debate if Edwards was not on that stage tonight? Off-topic bickering and senseless accusations would be the outcome, no doubt.

1. Absolutely agree, he was the adult here tonight and made many,
many points with the public I'm sure. I hope he is declared the winner. That would be soooo delicious...

3. I hope this helps him get more exposure
Part always depends on who the teevee talking heads focus on ad nauseum after these debates.

Key point: My mother asked me who Kucinich was tonight when I was telling her who my first choice was in our recent caucuses (Edwards was my first-second guy, 'cause Kucinich had only 3 supporters at my caucus)

2. Agreed
Nothing more for me to add. You're exactly right. A two candidate race, at this point in the game, would be a HUGE disservice to this country.

4.  Clinton would just congratulate Obama on his blackness
and Obama would celebrate Clinton's womanliness and the debate would have been over already. (nah-that would only be after they ripped each other a new one)

5. Hillary is speaking now ono going to people's homes and how this is about the people
IMHO, that would've never been the topic of highlight for her had she not gone through the NH debate where she was asked about her likeability, where Edwards brought the discussion home to the people and where he mentioned that she was part of the status quo -- his populist message is what she latched on to which immediately resulted in her showing emotion later the next day and letting herself get personal. From taht point forward, she constantly talks about how she's in this for the people.

He has set the tone time and time again with Clinton and Obama.
