the future of the weekly DUzy Awards. . .your thoughts ?

In these fractious times, upon one thing perhaps we can all agree.

Humor is our salvation.

I heard it said recently that the only way to unseat unruly tyrants from power is through satire.

For a long while JeffR has kindly done a phenomenal job of providing us with a much anticipated weekly compendium of DU's most humorous posts at the end of each and every often long and wearisome week.

He intimated on last week's thread that they may be discontinued in a few weeks.

So I thought we could put our tin foil hats together and brainstorm the possibilities we have.

I'm a bit graphically challenged but I figure we have a number of options if we wish for the DUzy Awards to be continued.

Either someone else who has decent computer skills, some spare time, and the inclination could assume the task when JeffR wishes to focus on other endeavors. Or they could become simplified, more collaborative, less streamlined in a Top Ten sort of format, with other DUers bookmarking the additional funny posts, and pasting the appropriate links under the Top Ten quotations. Or people could volunteer and take turns doing them in their current form on maybe a monthly basis, so no one gets overly fatigued from doing them. That method works really well in the ASAH forum on the monthly prayer thread.

Open to any and all suggestions.

I'm kind of feeling as though taking turns as we do in the ASAH forum or a more collaborative effort would be the best options.

Funny about the snark I don't see a whole lot of it but I guess I've got a pretty strong "psychic ignore" function.
