Anybody ever had a check denied by Certegy Check Services?

I had the money in the bank. Seems as though a 3rd party can decide whether your check meets mysterious criteria to be accepted or not. :grr:

It is the only one that denys my checks. I have no idea why. I always have a large cushion in my account.

4. no but i used to work for Telechek a long time ago and when a check was rejected

it was either because the check writer had written a bad check to another merchant that used Telechek so it was in the system or it was rejected in error, you need to call them and find out why.

7. never written a bad check in my life.

the money was definitely in my account. It was a newish account. Citergy doesn't consider any checks that they don't personally verify.

they didn't care that there was money to cover it, and couldn't tell me how many checks will be refused until my account has enough information to it.

5. A check that was written on thanksgiving day was denied.

We have yet to find out why. I'm going to ask the doctor who says the check could not be cashed if they use this Certegy check service.

6. not sure if any of this is related, but a Certegy employee was

arrested a while back, stealing personal information and selling to mktg/advt companies. I learned this through Commerce (my bank) who apparently delt w/ Certegy. Our info was sold. I had to change accounts, etc.

Though every company can have a thief, I wouldn't deal w/ them just b/c of this.

9. I'm going to be asking upfront if businesses use Citergy.

They won't get my business and will know why.
