Hey! Here is a novel idea for stimulating the economy:
Since most CEOs and huge conglomerates hide their obscene profits in overseas bank accounts in places like Zürich, Dubai, and the Cayman Islands to escape the IRS, why not find a way to put a huge amount of tax on their overseas bank accounts?

1. I think Zurich, Dubai and the Cayman Islands would have to be recruited in this
effort, and I don't see that happening. Are they going to kowtow to a broke, out of control, impotent county (U.S.) -- or keep raking in the bucks doing what they're doing?

2. I think there would be ways to discourage the offshore banking
in the first place. Such as passing legislation that awards government contracts only to companies that are chartered in the US and maintain the bulk of their capital in US accounts & investments.

6. I'm not sure our government contracts are that enticing anymore. And investing
in US accounts and investments in this economic climate isn't very appealing either.

I have no strong feelings on this one way or the other.

Declared AMNESTY (no interest, no penalties) for tax-avoiders who could re-file, with a threat to prosecute any who didn't fess up. GUESS WHAT HAPPENED THEN? NOTHING!

10. we would do better to invade the Caymans and then nationalize the corporations
I don't think there are very many people there, just a bunch of post boxes for the Multinational Corporations.
Sure as hell cheaper than blowing up Iran...
;-)
