How long do you think it will take for the international community to think of us as they did before bush wasted their good will after 9-11?

1. Al Gore seems to be working on this
I hope our next president sees this as a prime objective. One of the first actions should be a world tour apologizing and asking how we can make up to the world.

Wait, that should be the second action. The first should be to offer Bush up to the war crimes trials.

2. As soon as we get Clinton or Obama or Edwards in office.
We will have shown good faith by ensuring that a Republican does not hold the Presidency for at least 4 years. It won't take much, in other words. The world really wants to believe America is not the completely fucked up country it appears to be under Bush. I hope to prove them right in November.

4. First you have a miracle and THEN ...
Obama's election will signal to the world that America is DIFFERENT. We are tolerant, we are seeking peace through a person that will talk to other leaders (not down to them). With a vision of a peace United States working fairly with the world community. That's a big reason I'm for Obama; the worldly outlook. We don't need another angry sabre rattler that demands concessions before even talking. Even the police negotiators appear to be willing to give everything it takes to get hostages released; never say no, and keep them talking. It is Obama's nature.

5. I have a concern, though.
I like Obama--and I like his outlook fine. However, it bothers me that I never hear Plan B; what would he do if terrorists didn't live up to what they said they were going to do? Or what if, in an Obama plea for peace, one of them with atomic weapons, simply said "no"? Diplomacy is fine--but all the talk about it is predicated upon the 'fact' that it hasn't been tried before, and, if it is, it'll naturally work.

What will they do if it doesn't? (And it HAS been tried before under every president we've had, to one extent or another).
