25. What a Huge Relief This Poll Is

I hope this is the beginning of an increasing backlash against that bastard Matthews, probably mainly from women, because of the disturbing treatment of Hillary Clinton, over and over again, for all to witness. This restores my faith that people pick these things up and react against them, not just the several recent incredible threads here on DU, but just the TV audience reacting by itself, too. The problem with this male "shove the bitch's face in the shit" type "jocularity," is that as long as it draws an audience and no negative reaction, it will be treated as "just a joke/can't you take a joke/lighten up," etc., and it will steer and continue to control the parameters of the debate and guest list. Now that there is real evidence that people are NOT on the male attacker's side, laughing along, and are actually siding with the woman, sick of this shit, then the whole thing is cast in a different light. Let this finally get this asshole off the air and replaced with something intelligent and worthwhile. I just heard a fabulous discussion on last night's Charlie Rose about the Clinton/Obama "racial" situation, with Representative James Clyburn and a great panel--let's have more of that.
