1. My brother told me about it...I think
Isn't that the one where MLK looks around at the state of the black experience, is disgusted and says something akin to "Is this what I fought and died for?"

2. basically
the premise being MLK didn't die, he went into a coma for 30 years and when he woke up and didn't like the state of affairs. the protagonist of the series huey tries to help him out but to no avail. Finally at his first big political rally for the new african american movement turns into a BET music awards ceramony and he says some very disparaging things about "N******" basically stating the differance between the people he marched with and the BET generation. very good watch and i recomend.

3. Boonedocks?
That was a semi-political comic strip wasn't it? Where did it go? I enjoyed it, but it seemed to disappear. I think Boonedocks was the name, but I have CRS (can't remember sh*t), so I may be wrong.

4. your right with the african american kids
they made a kick a$$ cartoon centered around it and it is one of the most insightfull cartoons (IMHO) around these days especially concerning the african american position nowadways (once again MO).

7. 2nd best 'Boondocks' ever.
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 09:16 PM by americanstranger
The scene where MLK goes on the show that looks a lot like 'The Factor' is priceless.

(On Edit) - here's the link to that scene, called 'Say You love America!'

http://www.adultswim.com/video/?episodeID=0e640319d3124a1ad913ceb0080c093d

BTW - Best 'Boondocks' ever? The one with Bush and Rummy as a couple of 'w----rs' robbing a convenience store with a clerk who looked just like Ol' Saddam. Bonus - Samuel L. Jackson as the voice of Rummy. That one is worth hunting down both funny and true on multiple levels.

I mean i knew rummy did the know unknown speach but it never dawned on my that aaron purposefully created facimiles of gw and rummy

ed wuncler the III (ie GW son of HW son of prescott)

and gin rummy (bad ass mo fo who doesnt take prisoners and asks questions later.

and yes the fact that samuel L jackson plays the voice of gin rummy is funny as hell.

9. Next time you see it, you'll freak.
the whole scene in the store when Rummy and W keep telling the cops that the clerk (Saddam) has a weapon. The cop keeps saying, 'I don't see the weapon!' and they keep yelling it until the cop sees the weapon.

Perfect.
