It's actually an anti-business pro-populist (but anti-democratic) social organizational structure. Think of the fascist government in V for Vendetta--that was classical corportism. The state is like one body, with the individuals in society having no more rights than your body's cells have against what you want to do.

That's why the cops were called "eyes" and the street thugs were called "fingermen." The whole state was one body with certain groups within the state having special powers and priviledges.

It's another word for fascism.
