TAKE THE POLL: Which rightie pundit do you consider the biggest laughingstock?
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 09:54 AM by johnfunk
American Politics Journal has chosen nine of the dumbest rightie pundits. Your mission: choose the one you see as the biggest laughingstock. Visit their home page and take the poll. I was torn between Tweety Matthews and Michelle "Malkin" Maglalang.

5. Of that crew, I voted Kristol.
Actually, Glenn Beck is the worst. He actually believes every brown person is out to get him. Most of the rest of them are just in it for the buck and I don't think believe their shit.

Bill Kristol really wants to vaporize Iran. I love this description of him:

Charges: Bears the burlesque Cheshire grin of a sophist born with a large silver spoon jammed sideways in his mouth. A second generation neocon raised in the tradition of Straussian perception management and myth creation, Kristol is basically lying about everything -- always -- and he knows it. Whether at the helm of Rupert Murdoch's Weekly Standard, appearing on Murdoch's Fox News Channel, or co-founding the disastrous Project for a New American Century, Bill is arguably the most egregious media hawk of a generation. Seems to have suffered no ill impact to his career or prestige despite having been completely wrong about everything to do with Iraq and Iran, and actually laughs about it with obnoxious frequency.

Exhibit A: "First of all, whenever I hear anything described as a heartless assault on our children, I tend to think it's a good idea. I'm happy that the President's willing to do something bad for the kids."

Sentence: Corners of mouth torn apart by metal hook towing mules and face stomped by high-heeled elephants.

29. There's nothing uglier than that vile, slimy smirk on his "face..."

That quote from Bushwick Bill's post right before yours is memorable: "large silver spoon jammed sideways in his mouth."

No one approaches Krystol in sheer repulsiveness, although they are ALL far beyond acceptable levels.

8. None of the FOX crew were included.
I voted for Kristol because he takes himself so seriously. The rest are either also-rans or just blatant money grubbing shills. (Coulter & Malkin)

14. Actually, Kristol is the "intellectual elite" of the FARCE News crew
He holds Sabbath court on FARCE Noise Sunday, injecting the AIPAC/PNAC/Heritage memes into the discourse and, behind the scenes, coaching Brit Hume on the week's/day's talking points.

4. Bill Kristol. Not only is he a pundit of disrepute, he is an author of PNAC.
He appears as a guest commenting on all kinds of things including what he is a co-creator of. He smirks, is arrogant,, doesn't appear to care whether he is believed or not, is often laughed at by a host. He is the perfect diabolical politician conspirator and has no believability in delivery - a joker who plans killing, theft, destructions, and participates with the same people practicing torture. Hard to call him a laughinstock. It's when he opens his mouth.

Anne Coulter - second.

Neither one would be taken seriously in a sane country.

Had to go with the latter - the former gest enough publicity.

It would take them less than a decade for some white supremist group to name them "Family of the Year."

21. Matthews and his manly manliness and man-crushes...
... not to mention the flip side of the coin:
... [T]he Philadelphia Inquirer magazine reported in June 2001 that Matthews told an MSNBC colleague, "I hate her. I hate her. All that she stands for."

12. The term "laughingstock" means you have to actually laugh at them
Most of those folks on the list are about as funny as a heart attack.

Which is why I voted for Jonah, he of the prime-fighting-age, choosing to stay at home and write drippy warmongering garbage.

Everyone makes fun of Jonah, and I don't think anyone really takes the little bitch very seriously.

They must have excluded him because he is no pundit. Just a two-bit RW propagandist hatemonger.

Because her entire success derives from her looks.

If she was a paunchy, balding white male the media wouldn't give her the time of day.

30. Matthews is a rightie? Didn't he work for Tip O'Neil? I've heard people refer to Russert as a
rightie as well. He worked for Mario Cuomo and Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Have you ever thought that maybe they didn't leave the party, the party left them? Nah, couldn't be. You guys could never be wrong!
