It seems to me that as he has become more and more rabid in his support of the Republicans, it's effecting his manner of speaking!
I can barely watch him when he's all worked up and talking to someone face to face. They must be drenched with his spittle after one of his onslaughts! It's repulsive!

1. Actually I always hear him hawkering and clearing his throat
alot. Can't they get him a cut-off button? It's distracting and disgusting.

2. I did notice that ! I had to change the channel when he was talking about
Clinton on Friday because everytime he tried to pronounce the hard "C" it sounded like he had a big phlegmball stuck in his throat and was trying to clear it out.. UGHHHHH !

4. When KO is sitting next to him with all this primary stuff...
he must have to change his shirt during commercials. It's really disgusting. When the camera is on KO all you hear is this coughing and throat clearing, it's gross. Crikey, can't MSNBC afford a cut off for Tweety? I wonder how many letters of disgust they've received about him?

5. I often wonder what KO is thinking during those uncomfortable pairings.
Me, I'm wondering whether Matthews is going to completely unravel before O'Reilly. It's starting to look like a distinct possibility.

6. It's a valid thought. It's sort of like slowing down to see an...
accident. It's sick, but you can't look away. We stuck with MSNBC the night of NH just to see if Matthews would totally unhinge and become unglued and have a cerebral hemorrhage or complete mental collapse live on TV. My cousin said he's now routing for Hillary just to see Matthews melt like the wicked witch of the west live.

Must see TV.

14. I emailed MSNBC about him
I explained that I thought Matthews was nearly manic in his blathering during the NH primary coverage and that, as much as I like Olbermann, I had to change the channel. The guy is simply over-the-top and beyond endurance.
Really, if he must continue at MSNBC, it needs to be off camera.

8. As one who has experience in these areas, I think he's let his diabetes control slip.
Edited on Sat Jan-12-08 04:31 PM by blondeatlast
IIRC he's insulin dependent (as am I) and a little slip can be manifested in many ways.

It may not entirely be his fault, either. Even a cold (as I have now) can spin one round.

I'm NOT defending him personally, just a learned observation.

9. OK, but every single day?
Edited on Sat Jan-12-08 04:38 PM by Clinton Crusader
He's been misogynistic for a looooooong time and has been obsessively bashing and trampling Hillary for ages. I don't think that comes from Diabetes. I can possibly excuse his behavior occasionally from insulin or Diabetes, but the things he says have been going on for ages.

11. Again, I'm not excusing him--but yes, it can take weeks and months after even a minor setback
to gain back control. I'm going through a very early meopause and I haven't seen a really good HbA1C for over a year, sadly.

I don't like him one bit, but I study him for the reason I mention above and the signs are all too familiar. And let me repeat--I don't like him one bit.

10. I wondered that too, and he has malaria
has for years. Again, not defending the Tweets, but he does have some major health challenges that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

12. After reading some of your comments about his health, I feel sorry I said anything.
I didn't realize his drooling and spitting had a connection to health. I still don't like him though.

13. Carry on--seriously!
:hi:

I'm not entirely certain that's what it is--no guilt is necessary, really. He's certainly over the top when he badly wants to make a point and has been for years, so don't feel so bad.

That was not my intention--he's in the public eye, so that makes him subject to scrutiny. No matter the cause, he needs to get some degree of self-control.

No worries, friend.

15. Thanks for the words of encouragement!
There are diabetics in my husband's family and I never knew any of them to be afflicted with drooling etc....but...live and learn.:hi:

16. I guess I've never actually seen him drool, but some of the other mannerisms
have alarmed--like his blood glucose is dropping rapidly--and often he seems better after a break (and I suspect some quick acting glucose).

When my bG drops, I can become very animated and I often start talking very fast--the opposite of what my body ought to be doing, but

:hi: backatcha!
