Poll question: Your Favorite Progressive / Whateveryouwannacallit Radio Show
Edited on Fri Jan-11-08 10:50 PM by FlyingSquirrel
I'm just gonna throw out the ones I know about and get on my station (AM 1090 Seattle). So if there are others, say other and post below.. (national, not local). I know Young Turks are leaving Air America but they're still on for now and I'm picking them as my favorite. I guess my second choice would be Rachel Maddow.

9. Yes!
...and isn't it nice that people like Rachel maddow and Stephanie Miller seem to be able to drive a point home without resorting to an on-air emptying of their bile ducts...

2. Uh-oh ..
I accidentally voted for Stephanie Miller; I enjoy listening to her.

That having been said, however, as far as a favorite goes, it's a tie between Malloy and Hartmann. I couldn't live without either (a slight exaggeration, but ...).

4. Other: Howard Stern
Yeah, I know I'll get flamed for even mentioning his name, but for those of you who have listened to him consistently over the years, you know what I mean.

6. Hartman. But I like Maddow, now that I have a source for it.
I can stream her at work now. She's great!

That may skew the results.

Sure do enjoy hearing him call Bush a "rat-bastard".

8. Peter Werbe as a Honorable Mention
I found him first. It was through Peter that I found Thom Hartmann and Mike Malloy about five years ago.

10. Other: Radio Times on NPR
Radio Times originates in Philadelphia and I'm not sure it is syndicated. Sometimes the topics are local.

Another fave is Justice Talking on NPR.

12. Thanks for kickin... I'm surprised actually
I know Malloy has a big following here, and Stephanie Miller is hillarious and Thom Hartmann is pretty much THE MAN. But the Young Turks are pretty funny too and make their point without (in my opinion) being at all offensive or abrasive. I'm surprised they don't seem to have a following.

17. Guy James.
I don't know any others. He's the only one I've listened, and talked to, simply because he is a fellow DUer and I wanted to support him.

I don't know if it is my natural inclinations as an introvert, or the fact that I've spent my adult lifetime surrounded by talking people who I didn't really want to listen to, or what, but actually spending rare, precious free time deliberately turning on the radio to listen to MORE people talk is something that is alien to my universe.
