1. Where is the proof that Obama does NOT back reproductive rights for women?
I'm a Hillary supporter and I call bullshit when I see it. I like Roseanne, but she is wrong on this.

7. I recall his Senate vote record.
Edited on Fri Jan-11-08 09:03 PM by liberalnurse
I was looking at it a few months ago....If I find that page again, I'll post it. That's where I would look in general, at all the Bills in Senate since 05.

It maybe that he was a No Vote when it was need the most too..........

6. Yes we must walk in lockstep !! WE MUST !!
there can be no debate as to what the issues are, none.

We must not point out the particulars of each politicians views and plans, we musn't...

They can just keep giving us more ammo.

17. I understand that.
I checked out Obama's voting record over at Project Vote Smart...he voted FOR the Union Organization Bill (a good thing), voted AGAINST raising the minimum wage....

He voted in favor of more spending on family planning issues...

Voted NO on CAFTA, voted YES to a US-Oman Free trade agreement..

23. I believe the anti-choice
record is when he served in the ILLINOIS Senate....there he voted 'present.' Supposedly there was an arrangement made with Planned Parenthood in Illinois that this was OK.

Our society seems to think it's OK to slide on issues affecting women's freedom. Can you imagine someone voting 'present' on a civil rights issue?

Of course I think it's rather strange that the right of a woman to determine her entire life....that of assuming the responsibility of becoming a mother....wouldn't be a civil right...

"Obama doesn't even back reproductive rights for any woman!"

If she had left that out I might have given it more thought - and Im not an Obama supporter either...

8. Barr is a nutcase. If she heard the Democratic debate about a month ago
EVERYONE of the candidates supported Roe, and pledged to appoint judges to the Supreme Court that would continue that, along with the right to privacy

I am really tired of idiots getting such attention

Maybe we can talk about Lindsey or Britney instead of the REAL issues

12. She's got a point.
Voting for a color or a gender is just frikkin' stupid. Edwards is the most pro-union candidate, and yet most of our country is so highly uneducated they don't know. Heck, most people in the U.S. don't ever read a newspaper!

14. She apologized later:
"oh my God!

I am so sorry for sounding like I don't like Oprah or Obama. I do. Oprah has been a force for good for a long time, and I just got carried away with my preference for Hilary over Obama. I think she is smarter and better than he is, but either of them is better than any Republican, and will get my vote no matter who ends up on top. I got upset because I felt Oprah was adding to the divisiveness in this country. I am sorry Oprah, I really do admire and love you for all the good you do and have done in this country and the world at large. I am just so worried about another Republican getting in, my stomache hurts and I can't sleep, and I go over the top sometimes!"

25. That says a lot. About YOU
Barr's "piece" is bordering on the illiterate, contains at least one full blown lie, and reads like a drunken maniacal rant penned by a moron.

Oh, and she's already apologized for it.

I have nothing but contempt for anyone who could see anything in something so resoundingly stupid.

26. The problem with saying any candidate voted for or against something
is this. Many votes are taken and often more than 1 vote on a specific issue. If there is something in one of the bills they don't like and vote against it, everything comes back to haunt them during an election. For example, let's say Obama was set to vote on a bill that included giving Bush the right to nuke Iran and also included a program to give fresh milk to starving children every day. Of course he'd vote against nuking Iran, but next campaign someone would be running ads "Barrack refused to feed hungry children." I'm sure you can find bits and pieces to make ads about on every candidate.
