Saw it last night when I went to see Kite Runner. Seems like it could expose a topic that many don't know about...

2. I think beyond the usual Hollywood shtick there might be some enlightening
messages in the movie? What do you think?

6. they did seem to take the trouble to show scenes where the protagonist ... (*spoiler*)

... was opposed to government policies. Even one where he has obtained a (presumably false) Canadian passport. (They only showed it for a second, but that's what mine looks like so I recognized the format.)

This was over the Christmas holidays. The other trailer they showed with it was the Paul Gross WWI movie (which also looks at fundamental issues about conscience and combat). I'm thinking of seeing both of them when they come out. (I'm wondering if there will be something in the stop-loss movie about war resisters here in Canada ... I've actually met some of them, and one has written a book, called "The Deserter's Tale", which in itself would make a compelling film.)

3. I saw it after sitting through the Screenvision preshow sponsored by the National Guard
It definitely looks interesting, and certainly got a positive reaction from some of the people sitting around me.

4. I saw the same or similar preshow too - then the preview for this movie
seemed kinda ironic.
