This is sad- a great place for weats and jeans and all kinds of stuff.

------

A&N sportswear stores will soon be going out of business for good.

The Times-Dispatch reports the Henrico-based chain is beginning its liquidation sale today.

The family-owned company blames increased competition, slowing sales and mounting losses for its decision to close.

The 48-store chain traces its roots to a dry-goods shop in downtown Richmond that opened after the Civil War. A&N - originally called the Army-Navy Supply store - is liquidating its merchandise by selling inventory at 60 percent off.
