1. I'm sorry about your friend. It hurts tremendously to see our friends and loved ones suffer.

Regarding mass not seen in colon - -

It is highly probable that what is showing up in the CT scan is the source for the tumors on the liver.

My husband went through this. It was a long and arduous journey but extremely encouraging story that started six years ago. Today, his oncologist has determined he "has it licked" but he still is battling a few remaining small tumors on his lungs.

What one of the doctors determined to be outside the colon was in fact on his small intestines as it cascaded in the vicinity of the Sigmoid portion of the colon, hence was not detectable with a colonoscopy.

In the last six years they have come a long way in the treatment of colon cancer. And my husband's oncologist has just recently told us there is some new breakthrough in colon cancer coming this year. We wait with bated breath.
