Bush determined to make tax cuts permanent
IN another post I said that this is his number one priority and the Repukes left in Washington will try to get them passed. That is why so many bills have failed to come to the floor and others vetoed by Bush because we stripped them from the Bill. He won't sign any Democratic legislation unless it has this provision in.

After 2008 election the GOP won't have enough people to do anything. SO they are trying now....very hard.

Just google Bush Tax Cuts and learn about how this is going to come to ahead as Bush's term ends....

3. Fine load up a bill with every possible Democratic wish plus a
confession and resignation and attach his "permanent tax cuts".

4. So what does that mean?
"Make the tax cuts permanent." Does that mean a constitutional amendment, setting tax rates for all time and in all circumstances? What would such an amendment look like? Would it include measures to circumvent those rates, such as in case of war*? Otherwise, there is no law that can be enacted that can't be undone by the convening of a new Congress.

My point is that everything is changeable, and though the damage done by this administration is extensive, it can be undone.

*I know, what am I saying? Bush and his Republican pals are waging two invasions now while cutting taxes.

5. Exactly..

.... the only issue is that it takes passing legislation to change them. And that when passing such legislation, it can be politically characterized as "raising taxes".
