This speaks for itself
http://www.towncalleddobson.com/?p=998

--------------------------------------------------

MLK took a lot of abuse and ultimately died so people like Barack Obama could have equal rights and hold public office. The Black experience in America is paved with real tears, pain, abuse and murder. The younger you are, the less you care about color and that is Obama’s key demographic. Hillary’s is the older generation and they care a lot more about race than the youth do. But the older Black generation remembers Selma.

They remember the tear gas.

1. I know you can be too sensitive about suffering and it's tempting
to beat others over the head with it. This article is a good example.

3. And what exactly do you know of suffering? I could tell horror stories
but learned long ago that personal pain should stay ... just that. Politics is about the general welfare, or should be. I've learned the lessons of life from death so the loss was meaningful.

The US is a funny place ... we think history started here ... and don't seem to want to know more. But I'm a first generation American, so I may be tone deaf to your mockery.

4. This is not about suffering in the past.
It is about nooses in Louisiana.

It is right here, right now.

You, of all people here, should recognize that bigotry and racism cannot be allowed one inch.

5. I'm one of few who can legitimately explain ... you must allow for
natural bigotry and racism. It's biological and I don't argue with sciences. I couldn't even argue with my relatives who did their best to explain madness.

You know I could howl ... but the effort is always to remain mild in the face of provocation. Work with others to alleviate suffering, because we'll never eliminate it. Get along as best we can, because our tendency will always be to divide into cliques. See my tagline for details.

6. There is no such thing as "natural bigotry and racism" and it is
not biological.

It is a learned trait that may 'seem' natural or biological because it is impressed on children even before they learn to speak. And it can be stopped, with conscious confrontation. All humans are one species, and there is no biological benefit to tribalism.

8. Actually there MIGHT have been a biological advantage to tribalism
in early human evolution... (now notice, EARLY HUMAN EVOLUTION, as in 200,000 years ago, perhaps even 100,000 years ago)... Even early historical evolution (due to resources, or lack of them rather)... but these days... with global crisis looming and all that... that advantage is gone. It has been gone for a good while... yes count them in the thousands of years.

Oh and I base this statement also in the study of chimps where tribal warfare does exist as well.

By the way, I will be the last one to defend racism... in any form... it sickens me to the core.
