The truth about the economy and Republican strategy
We have been lied to about the economy since * took office....Job starts, unemployment figures,etc..We listened while we were being told just how good the economy was while we watched as manufacturing plants were closing or moving to a cheaper labor market. While the oil industry were making billions of dollars in profits, while we struggled to fill our gas tank or buy just enough to make it to the grocery store to buy the essentials.
As we approach the November election Republicans will make the economy an issue and yes its risky for them to do this but remember we have a Democratic Majority in congress and "its all the Democrats fault" That will be the strategy they will build on....While making the economy an issue it buries the Iraq war way down on the list of priorities.I predicted this back in 2004 after the election was stolen that in 2008 the real numbers about the economy would come out and here we are.
Karl Rove's twisted mind will figure out a way to blame it all on the Democrats.

2. Right, AND they will invent
an agreement between Israelis and Palestinians. I heard that Wall Street thinks the economy is fine; not working people.

PS, I've NEVER trusted any numbers coming out of this admin.

3. The Party Is Too Fractured
A lot will depend on who the Repugnican candidate is. The Huckster surely isn't a Wall Street Repugnican and would present a far different agenda than a Mittens or McCain. If anything, the "fiscal conservatives" may just sit home this November...counting their dividends from their offshore accounts while the recession destroys the consumer market.

For years, the GOOP game was to bullshit about the economy and if times were tough, then that was YOUR fault...you deal with it. The long-time mantra has been that greed is good and the only way to get rich is through greed...now the bill has come due and those who went along for the ride are wanting to get off. They know that booosh, his war for profit and his hideous tax cuts have been a disaster for this economy and they now expect the Democrats to clean it up.

Iraq and the Economy are very much joint issues. The money wasted on that occupation takes away from money available for infrastructure and domestic programs...it's money that can't be pumped into local economies to create jobs unless you make bombs or are a vulture capitalist.

Last night Conservative Norm Ornstein was on the Daily Show and all but blamed all the economic woes on the booosh regime. And he works with Gnewt Gingrich at the American Enterprise Institute. The natives are very restless.
