Is terrorism a "GOP talking point" that will go away as an issue if we pretend it's not there?

I think it's a real issue and concern. It's the first and main thing President Clinton talked to Idiot about during the transition.

It's also a real POLITICAL issue and probably will be number one come November because it's all the PUKE will be talking about unless it's Huckabee.

Maybe if we close our eyes and think about magic it will go away though. If that doesn't work maybe if we yell GOP TALKING POINT to anybody who brings it up it will disappear and never be brought up in the election.

1. We'd better not pretend it doesn't exist.
I don't think any serious candidate IS pretending terrorist threats don't exist, do they?

2. Sure it's an issue
But more people die every year due to lack of health care than terrorism. Your average American is more threatened by losing a job, their home or just regular American street crime.

So yes, terrorism is an issue, at about number 73 on a list of 100 issues.

3. Agree it's down there on the list in comparison. Also think it will be #1 or 2 election day
Not in reality but in the heads of voters

6. And once the terrorists get their hands on weapons
Edited on Thu Jan-10-08 04:05 PM by Genanderson
more deadly than flying airplanes into buildings, it will rocket to #1. But by all means let's just address it like it's #73 until then....

Edit: Funny how when it comes to Global Warming, radical change is not only necessary, but crucial because it will get much worse. But in regards to terrorism, why suddenly that logic doesn't work anymore. How strange.

4. This is a real issue, and the GOP have put their claim to it.
It is not going away. Sounding dismissive of it hurts us.

Now do I agree with how GWB seems to bring it up in an effort
to keep the American people scared. No I do not agree with
this tactic. We cannot ignore a reality however.

5. That sums it up alright. It's all McCain is talking about
Going to be huge in the election whether anyone thinks it "should" be or not

7. 'Have You Republicans Put Down Terrorism or Have You Made It Worse'
Should be repeated over and over again by Democrats.

8. It's an issue, not THE issue. Europe has dealt with terrorism for decades.

It doesn't consume their every thought and deed. And they live with and next to these dangers; we don't.
