1. I hope the Democrats in the legislature can prevent this
Really BAD news for education in California which hasn't been flourishing in decades and now Schwarzenegger wants to deny schools funding. The voters of California value education more than their Governor.

since they can afford private schools

having children in the education system, if this passes we may very well leave. publication already suffers from dire underfunding

what are they trying to do? are thier genuinely humane motives behind this -- like do they think that starving education, such as it is, will force people to take matters into thier own hands and improve the system themselves??

argh this is so frustrating and scary.
