The Care2 Petition site is fairly liberal in the causes they defend. They say it's a bad idea...here's a link:

The largest expansion of gambling in U.S. history is headed to California unless we take action to stop it.
Props. 94, 95, 96, 97 will be on the California ballot February 5. They are sweetheart deals between Sacramento politicians and 4 of the wealthiest, most powerful Indian tribes in the state.
If approved, these deals would bring more slot machines to California than 12 large Vegas casinos combined. But the "Big 4" tribes - who spent millions in political contributions to get these deals - will make billions more in profits that come at our expense:
* Unfair to Californians: The "Big 4" can manipulate the revenue sharing formula and underpay the state. Police and fire departments will get shortchanged, and not 1¢ is guaranteed to schools. And, these deals exempt the "Big 4" from certain environmental protection laws.
* Unfair to Workers: "Big 4" tribes make billions more in profits, but leave many casino workers without affordable health care.
* Unfair to Other Tribes: Just 4 of 108 tribes get unfair control of a third of state's Indian gaming pie, while economically devastating other tribes.
Who opposes the Big 4 gambling deals? Nearly 150 groups and community leaders have spoken out against this expansion so far, including the American Indian Rights and Resources Organization, California Federation of Teachers, California Professional Firefighters and Citizens for a Quality Environment.
Don't let the "Big 4's" millions in political contributions pay off. Tell the politicians "NO DEAL" by voting "NO" on Props. 94, 95, 96, 97 - and demand that the Legislature go back to the bargaining table and negotiate a deal that's good for all Californians. Join our virtual march to oppose props 94 - 97 by signing this petition.
