Why is Randi Rhodes discussing Sen. Clinton's clothes?
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 05:30 PM by journalist3072
So I'm listening to Randi Rhodes, and she just finished discussing Sen. Clinton's outfit that she wore last night. Basically, Randi said she normally loves the way Se. Clinton dresses, but last night's outfit looked like it came from the hotel drapes.

I took John Edwards to task for discussing Sen. Clinton's clothing before, and now I'll take Randi to task.

Who cares what she wears? Last time I checked, we weren't electing someone to be Mr. or Ms. Fashionplate. We're electing the next leader of our country.

It just seems so very shallow to be discussing Sen. Clinton's clothing. Does anyone discuss the clothing worn by the male candidates?

1. Randi Rhodes has plenty of "shallow" moments
I don't mind them so much, but it's been Randi's rudeness with callers and talking over almost everyone that caused me to stop listening to her.

She's pretty good at monologuing, though.

3. I feel bad for saying this,
but she's turning into a left-wing Bill-O. I stopped listening after she wouldn't stop shouting down some votevets.org or IVAW guy who she invited onto her show. She'd yell at him for a couple minutes, he'd say, "Randi, I agree with you, I..." more shouting at him.

25. She spends too much time ranting. Even if the jacket did look like draperies. Who cares?

4. I will laugh at this one because
everytime Hillary wears that jacket, which is often, I think exactly the same thing. It looks like drapery or furniture upholstery, looks hot as hell and the cut make her look very severe, the last thing she needs. Other than this one jacket I think she has been looking very good- feminine but not frilly, simple cut suits and lovely colors and jewelry. I fault Randi for a lot, but not commenting on this awful outfit. And worn at such a weird time when Hillary has been trying to look and sound softer.

7. I can't fault Randi either for that,
since I also thought the fabric looked like it had been taken from a couch.

8. It's expensive fabric. Maybe that's the problem.
The rest of us are used to cheap fabrics. :)

19. this was the funniest description I saw >

But we do know this: If Hillary wants to keep women caring about how she feels, she's going to have to rethink those outfits. Because that whole Talbots–Meets–Madame Chiang Kai-shek thing is enough to turn 'em away like OxyClean on a tough stain.

23. Some things just don't look good on camera
The jacket probably looks a lot better "in person."

Yeah, I thought it looked like drapery material, as well. Dated drapery material at that!

12. I was just about to post that I really, really want that jacket that
Hill wore last night. She looked stunning and the dress Chelsea had on was lovely. Now, back to the jacket. I didn't watch and couldn't tell if it was a pants suit or plain suit. Having worked for a mag down here in Palm Beach, I can assure you it was a designer jacket, the material didn't look too heavy, had a sort of nubby texture to it. Again, have ya looked at what Randi wears out in public??? Puhleeeze.

14. Chelsea looked great
and I could care less what Randi wears. I'm sure Hil's jacket was expensive, but just think it was a little severe for her with the mandarin collar and too large a pattern. I'd like to see her in a dress sometime, too.

20. She needs to watch the colors she wears
Grey is not her color. I have seen her wear some colors that make her look vibrant and younger and then some that make her look washed out and older. The right colors for someone can do amazing things for a person, especially one in the spotlight. And, yes I've heard remarks about the male candidates. I believe Al Gore was criticized for something he wore and I'm sure the others have had great deal of help picking out their suits and ties.

Personally, I like Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi's style. They always look very stylish, sophisticated and yet look like they can compete with any man.

And it kind of looked like she stole it from Chairman Mao.

Apparently ugly coats are genetic.
