Which Top 3 Candidate Is Most Likely to Spike GOP State Legislative Gains, in Time for Census?
Here in VA this past fall, we had a nailbiter that turned out Tom Davis' wife, and secured a gerrymander-resistant majority in the Senate.

Which of the top 3 candidates is most likely to spike GOP turnout in purplish states, leading to down-ticket debacles that get etched into the electoral districts, a la Tom Delay's machine in Texas?

3. Losing a House of Congress, and Having a Downticket Effect in State Races...
... are two very different matters, that informed voters should take into account.

7. Mass and it is my contention that Hillary will
hurt the party down ballot (in fed and state legislatures) in a way that Edwards and Obama won't (even if they lose).

8. Which Part of MA? I Agree...
... with your intuition on this.

I am especially worried about purplish/flippable states in Upper Appalachia/border states/Upper South.

5. Just to Be Clear...
... since the edit window has closed, and things were moving fast last night: these are not the types of considerations that many voters take into account. I understand that.

However, you can bet your bottom dollar, your last wooden nickel, and your belly lint that Karl Rove has his fingers crossed that one of the three wins for this very reason.
