I know these are early returns, but I'm not seeing the Obama surge yet. Where'd it go?

I expected to see SOMETHING, even this early. "Too close to call" is the word right now.

If this trend holds, it would mean that almost 10% of voters projected for Obama bailed, in less than 24hrs. Or, there's the theory/practice of voters saying one thing to pollsters and doing the opposite. It's also unpredictable how many of the new and young voters expressed for Obama will actually vote. They disappointed, overall, in 2004.

Or, Clinton pulled it out with her performance in the end?

We''ll see. There's a good way to go yet, but I couldn't resist.

1. Her "performance"? You mean weeping and saying her feelings
were hurt? Ack--we'll lose, if she's the nominee.

5. She was NOT weeping. Nor was she crying.
She got EMOTIONAL for less than a minute.
Is there a new litmus test on emotion that indicates if you show any you should not be allowed to run?

8. You shouldn't break down in public from the stress of running for Preznit.
That's not Commander-In-Chief material.

13. She didn't even come close to breaking down.
She showed a tiny bit of feeling. When Romney teared up recently, the media called it "poignant." When HRC's voice catches for a moment, the MSM -- and half of DU -- acts like she had a nervous breakdown.

18. That is a wrong statement.
AS lot of real people choke up during stressful times. Just remember the last time that it was a real issue. We got Nixon.

10. Or maybe there was a backlash against all the trashing of Clinton.
Even lots of DUers have said how upset they were with how Clinton was treated yesterday -- supporters and non-supporters alike.

2. Who knows?
They poll, they ask questions, they beat your face in with daily facts.
Truth is, you never know.

3. Young folks come in later to vote...they'll be counted later...
Expect to see Obama get ahead in another hour or two. I'm a Hillary supporter and I don't expect her lead to hold.

4. I still suspect he'll eke out a win
but not by the margin the Polls had him at. Perhaps 3 - 5 percent or maybe even less. If that happens, a lot of the inevitability glow could come off him and it could be a race again.

7. It went to McCain.
He is very strong with independants, like Obama. McCain vampirized Obama. That's my guess, but we'll see for real tonight. Don't count Obama out yet!

15. New Hampshire doesn't have a lot of big cities. Are you sure we haven't
already been getting returns from them?

12. ThinkProgress gives hope for Obama fans...
From a poster at http://bravenewfilms.org/election :

"From Think Progress "New Hampshire’s registered independents are able to vote in either primary. Early exit poll data “indicated six in 10 opted for the Democratic contest.” - this could move things back toward Obama"

"Independent" is a code word for Republicans and those that won't support real progressives-like John Edwards. At least in elections-the rest of the time you can be independent all you damn well want. WHY don't these "free spirited" people like Edwards? He's the only one that would really take on big brother. OH I know they might have to pay for it. Now they just pay to make Halliburton, Bechtel, and Cheney rich so it's okay. Always dough for guns but butter is taking it from your baby.
