Actually there is a theory that women publically tell pollsters they are going to vote for a man to not look chauvinistic and then in the privacy of the polling booth vote for the woman vs white voters who don't want to look like racist to the pollster but who really aren't sold on the black candidate for whatever reason and vote differently in private.
