Bill would ban vehicle vulgarity (Maryland)
ANNAPOLIS - Washington County Sheriff's deputy Matthew Bragunier figures that he sees, at least once a day, fake bull genitals flopping from the hitches of pickup trucks.

They're only a toy, but they're also unpleasant to look at, said Bragunier, worried what his 2-year-old girl might think someday.

"My daughter's going to see this," he said. "She's going to ask what this is. I don't want to be put in that spot. I don't think I ever want to be in that spot."

Del. LeRoy E. Myers Jr., R-Washington/Allegany, agreed.

13. Yeah, I guess this guy keeps his two year
old away from the monkey house and the baboons when they are in heat.

I am tired of people thinking the world has to conform to what THEY think is proper for a TODDLER! Oy vey! The kid will not be two forever, but if he doesn't let her mature she may be two emotionally forever.

9. Didn't someone pass a law that male horses have to wear pants?
Edited on Wed Feb-21-07 08:30 PM by IanDB1
I tried to google it, but all I can find are links to bestiality sites and "Neil Horsley" coming up.

edited to add: I found it!

A Fountain Inn, South Carolina, law once required horses to wear pants at all times. But carriage horses in Charleston, South Carolina, were required to wear diapers.

6. Oh, gawd, I just think of them as asshole indicators
along with Confederate flag stickers.

I wish instead of banning things so that they could go through life without ever being offended by anything, these moron legislators should be tackling tough issues such as a failed health care system and below subsistence wages.

I told him it was the phone number of the driver's favorite restaurant.

12. The text of the bill made me chuckle:
"A person may not display on a motor vehicle any model, sign, sticker, or other item that depicts or resembles anatomically correct, less than completely and opaquely covered, human or animal genitals, human buttocks, or human female breasts."

Does Garfield count?

21. I'm glad.
I think they are vulgar. I've been stuck in traffic behind a giant truck with those things hanging pretty much in my face. I don't think it's funny....I think it's crude and I would be glad to see them gone. I sure as hell wouldn't want my 6 and 4 year old niece and nephew in the car asking me about them.

24. There are already some laws like that around the country.
That being said, most are moworded less vaugly, in some ways it sounds almost like cops with have cart-blanch to pull anyone over because 'I thought it looked like..." even though it could be a Garfield or something else. Heck, technically someone could be pulled over off the picture of the right angled profile in a woman in a fleshy-colored bathing suit.

30. They're dumb and crass........
but making them illegal isn't much better.

I'd like to outlaw stupidity too, but it won't work, and making it a capital offence seems a bit extreme.
