Local radio interview: Reid suggested Kucinich to ‘go back to his district’

Our local radio station, 1230 KJFK, here in Reno NV interviewed Senator Harry Reid. Reid was talking about all the Senators running for president and Gov Richardson. The host mentioned Congressman Dennis Kucinich and his basic tone was that his issue stance was not viable and to ‘go back to Ohio to serve the people of his district”.

Yes, this is what he said. The most important point I am making is not necessarily that he completely dismissed a Congressman – moreover that he dismissed Congressman Kucinich fundamental positions on the issues.

So, I guess single payer not for profit health care is out of the question, ridding our country of NAFTA, etc, and restoring the Constitution are dismissible and unnecessary for America. In a prior interview Reid stated that they have ‘no time’ to impeach Bush or Chaney. This of course in setting a precedent: government can get away with any crime…

It was so freaking disgusting to hear the ‘Senator’ basically telling Congressman Dennis Kucinich that your ideas are laughable and to ‘go home little boy”.

There is no more doubt in my mind that the Dem leadership is in on the coop. Ever wonder why, as the Minority, the Democrats could NEVER stop these republican thugs. Yet, as the Majority, the Democrats get walked all over and the Minority Repulicans stop everything. How convenient that every bill and confirmation went detrimental to democrats.

Every single American citizen is in a heap of trouble…

... because I am so freaking livid. I am not exaggerating what Reid said. I was absolutely floored when I heard what he said. I am hoping a fellow Nevadan heard the same radio broadcast and can state their opinion as well.

And like I said, look what Reid has and has not done as minority/majority leader - hardly anything for our Democracy.

What do we do folks? What happens when we elect an awesome Dem President but nothing positive gets done?

What final event will signal the last straw on the camels back...?

I missed that today. And I've never been able to find audio clips or transcripts of Christianne's the Solution Zone, so I doubt I'll get to hear it. She's pretty good though. Did she have anything to say in response to Reid's lame comment? What was the outcome?

I also suggest you write to the RGJ on this one, maybe some LV newspapers, and snail mail to Reid's offices. It's worth expressing and we need more voices on this matter.

No, KJFK is not yet up to speed (probably funding) on pod casts, streaming, etc.

The interview was taped this morning and replayed on her 3pm show. The replay ended up hitting the 4pm time period so the end will be played tomorrow.

The interview also had stuff about the FISA bill and telecomm immunity. I did not quite follow all the Senate'esse - but I gather it was the usual bullcrap about how they 'had to submit the bill with the immunity". Oh, and Reid called Senator Dodd's filibuster nothing more than him 'coming back from campaigning to speak that day on the bill". Nothing at all mentioned about Dodd's 'hold...

Christane only said that Reid;s responses were 'interesting'. Maybe she will expand on it tomorrow...

Good idea about the LTTE at the RJG (the local reno paper). I am eligible for a letter at the end of the month. I would like to get a transcript thou as, well, would like to have the exact words he said...

I heard from a bud of mine who volunteered with me in our District in the past couple of elections. She's got five out of ten people in her precinct that plan on voting for Kucinich on the 19th and the remaining 5 are split. Who knows what we'll encounter at the caucus sites. It will be interesting.

When you say you went to the training, are you going to help by volunteering at the caucus or just going to cast your support? And which training did you attend -- who invited you and how did you hear about it? I'm asking because I attended some of that stuff, too.
