Looks like everything might be coming into sync in 2008. The Dems have a lot of different things that will permanently bury the GOPs hold over the 'moral majority', they have the chance to destroy long standing myths created by the Neo-Cons that have held sway over America for decades.

The GOP is just too corrupt and greedy to hide the criminal allegations against its most powerful ranks. The ones that go to jail, leak, testify in court etc..

I think we could see Dems in charge of Congress and the White House. Maybe even some placements on the SCOTUS.

Puts a smile on my face when I think about it. :)

What will the M$M do? I know the Internet will have a party!!!

1. "What will the M$M do?"
Protect them and cover for them, as per usual.

2. Maybe we can destroy the M$M too
or at least break it's grasp on the FCC and elect unbiased (dare I say) people who will make rational decisions. Even bring back the Fairness Doctrine.

4. The swiftboaters are waiting in the wings..
and they will be well-financed. While I share your dream, I cannot share your optimism. Deep down best case scenario I think is we trounce them into the ground, but I doubt we'll bury them.

5. I have to be at my most positiveness in 2008. It is the last year
of the official reign of Dick Cheney. I used up all my pissy negativeness over the last 7 years. Saved my hope and dreams for the last year.

:)

8. They might, I hoped for the results we got in 2006. Those were amazing
seats taken in Congress. Even better in 2008. A real movement to the left. All caused by a cataclysmic event on the right.

10. just encourage
your libertarian friends to vote Libertarian.
Encourage your evangelical neighbors to form a Jesus Party they can vote for.
splinter the GOP into smaller parties, and they will have lost their power.

11. Be careful what you wish for
Look what happened to the repukes' intended "permanent majority"?

Politics runs in cycles. The repukes tried to grind that cycle to a halt in their own territory. That effort will eventually result in their own crushing defeat, which began in 2006.

Much as I would love to see our country have a permanent Democratic or progressive majority, I think it would eventually lead to a whole buch of power-hungry, corrupt Dems running the country. Too much power in the same hands for too long is corrosive to democracy.

13. I'm also not sure that would be an entirely good thing
One-party rule cannot make for a vibrant democracy -- even if the party in charge is your own! This kind of talk reminds me of *'s own musings about how things would be so much easier in a dictatorship.
