Not one thread on Sarkozy's engagement to Carla Bruni?
WTF is WRONG with you people! Take a trash break!! It's all the buzz across the pond. :hi:

Sarkozy 'to tie knot with ex-model next month'

NICOLAS Sarkozy, the president of France, could marry the Italian singer and former model Carla Bruni early next month, according to a Sunday newspaper.
The Journal du Dimanche said Mr Sarkozy had given Ms Bruni a diamond engagement ring and a wedding date had been set for Friday or Saturday, 8 or 9 February. Mr Sarkozy's office declined to comment.

The report coincided with the release of an opinion poll showing a seven-point drop in Mr Sarkozy's ratings, mainly because of concern over the economy but also his private life.

15. Saudi calls on Sarkozy to visit alone
Saudi calls on Sarkozy to visit alone By ABDULLAH SHIHRI, Associated Press Writer
55 minutes ago

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - A senior Saudi official urged French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Monday to respect Saudi Arabia's conservative Islamic culture by visiting the country without his girlfriend, former supermodel Carla Bruni.

Sarkozy, who divorced his wife Cecilia in October, has flaunted his relationship with Bruni on recent holidays in Egypt and Jordan, drawing criticism that he is being too loose with the presidential image.

The Saudi diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, said Sarkozy should leave Bruni behind for "religious reasons" when he visits the kingdom on Sunday.

Under the strict interpretation of Islamic law enforced in Saudi Arabia, unmarried or unrelated couples are not permitted to be alone together. Westerners are expected to abide by the rules in public, and many hotels will not check unmarried Western couples into a single room.
