Oh, Dammit!
I never realized Washington State had caucuses. I thought we just had the primary--which I really hate to even participate in ever since the Republican, Democratic, and Libertarian Parties joined forces to eliminate our open primaries.

But I got an e-mail from the Edwards campaign to attend a caucus preparation meeting this coming Sunday half an hour before I get off work about half an hour away from where I am. I would've LOVED to do this.

The caucus is on Feb 9th and I'd love to do that too, but I really know nothing about the process and I'd have to request the day off immediately to be able to participate.

Damn, damn, damn, damn, damn.

1. I'll be quite surprised if it's not over after Feb. 5
But perhaps that is what we are hoping for. I plan to ask for the 5th off, and that may be a moot point.

6. no, no folks
This is it - grass roots democracy; face to face, meeting people, talking issues, horse trading. Voting is a very small part of democracy. This is fun and valuable and powerful. This is how we used to do things back when democracy worked - before it all became a personality contest and a media circus.

Mythsaje, I really want you to do this if you possibly can. All you need to do is go and give your opinions and report back to us how it went. We need voices like yours to be heard.
