The candidate who wants to break the health insurance industry's interference
in providing health care will get my vote.

I want a candidate who's willing to stand up to the health insurance industry and not allow them to interfere with medical decision-making. Since NO candidate is willing to attempt to do away with health insurance companies altogether at the very least take away their right to deny patients life-saving treatments and operations.

These sharks claim they don't do that...they just won't pay for them, but we all know that's not the case.

Just watched Sicko for the third time and realized none of the candidates have ever taken a hard stand against the health insurance industry. People are dying because of the health insurance industry.

Every politician who does nothing ought to be ashamed of themselves.

1. Edwards and Kucinich have both taken a hard stand against the insurance industry.

3. I think you pretty much have one choice: Edwards.
Hillary and Barack are #1 and #2 in donations from health products and health professionals lobbyists. I wonder what they expect in return for all that money? :eyes:

4. Sorry, don't agree...
None of them have really done anything about the health insurance industry. They took money...so what. They ALL take money.

I want a candidate with the strength and the balls willing to stop them in their tracks...I want one who says that even though hospitals will treat patients...that the health insurance industry must follow suit by paying for whatever care the patient needs.

Remember that girl who died because an insurance company denied a transplant...I think this was in California a few months ago. Where were ANY of the candidates? Why didn't they stand by the family? NONE of them where there and have never been there for folks like us who are at the mercy of health insurance companies.

For example, if a patient needs a bone marrow transplant to save his or her life, the insurance company is NOT allowed to deny payment. That ought to be a law.

6. Clinton and Obama have taken massive money from health insurance lobbyists.
It's their big cash cow. So...where do you think their loyalties are going to lie? Michael Moore has basically thrown his hat in for Edwards. If you were really impressed with Sicko, that should tell you something.

9. It tells me the politicians aren't going to fight that hard...
status quo remains.

If Edwards wins...it would still remain. I don't throw my support in based on what a celeb does even if it is Michael Moore.

8. Edwards is not taking money from insurance lobbyists.
Here are details of his insurance coverage plan:

http://www.johnedwards.com/issues/health-care/20071207-health-insurance-abuses/

And in his speech just last night, John Edwards was the only candidate who mentioned the girl who died because her insurance company refused coverage until after she died.

John Edwards is addressing this issue.

12. Kucinich is the only one willing to take on the insurance
companies as well as other issues, that is why he will get my vote.

It is also why he is marginalized by the corporate media.
