ABC broke in to regular programming to declare Huckabee and Obama winners
Edited on Thu Jan-03-08 09:16 PM by undeterred
more than 10 minutes ago... with Clinton finishing second and Edwards finishing a disappointing third. Since all the precincts aren't counted yet and its very close- how does he know that? This was done by Charlie Gibson.

7. NBC did the same for Huckabee, but announced the lead of Obama
and tie (a few percentage points below) for Clinton and Edwards.

11. If Huckabee is ten points up, then yeah - he's blowing away the other candidates
But the Dem Caucus is still a three-way, neck-and-neck race.

12. It was the media
that told us who the only three viable democratic candidates were, and we accepted that quite easily. Why should we doubt them now?

16. Right.
I looked at the Iowa caucus page right after he said this and only 700 had been counted. They just want us to know everything is under control.

14. I'll give them Huckabee
But I'm not comfortable in calling a Dem win yet.

Obama is doing great and Edwards and Clinton are fighting it out within fractions, but still any one of them could pull it off.
