On almost every corner in Orlando, homeless men.
Beggers are back in droves I haven't seen since the Reagan years. Actually, they don't look like the ordinary transient alcoholics we see around this time of year. They look sober, with possibly some medical affliction. Not all are claiming to be soldiers. One held a sign that said he was a stroke victim. Another walked with a limp and had a wrist band.

Anyone see any signs of tent citys going up?

Let me take a wild shot in the dark here. The exception is the one leading into Disney World... :eyes:

6. Oh sure, I could have said "International Drive" instead

but then people not familiar with O-town (there are still a few, right?) would've missed the point that the homeless are generally kept as far away from tourists (and their fat wallets) as possible. Oddly enough, one major exeception is Waikiki.

3. I'm in PB county. Many of these poor souls are coming down here
for the warm weather. You should see Miami, down by the port where the ships are. Friend and I were coming through there one time after a cruise and they were laying on sidewalks, right out in the open. Very sad.

Up here, it's mostly white men.
I'm guessing that black or hispanic men would be picked up for vagrancy, or worse reasons - La Migra.

12. Don't worry. They'll sweep them up and take them somewhere, where we all won't
have to be shamed by it. Just looking at these guys, my original thought was, now, there's last year's Rush Limbaugh fan.

get this bad. Now if only we can keep the selfish Libertarian-Republicans from chanting their song of hate.

20. You know, when I saw them on the streets, I thought to myself, that these white men were
just the kind of people who last year would have said, "Why dont they get jobs and take some responsibility They made some bad decisions in the past...now they need to buck up and take some responsibility for their situation. I know that i never did anything which caused them to be homeless...get a friggin job!!!!!"

There may be more than usual, but the numbers always go up in Florida in winter.
