1. Well, he is limited..
to guests willing to cross a picket line.

2. No, he is listening to his advertisers
and the network.

People do not enter the equation in networks. See?

3. Then again
Leno is returning in defiance of the WGA - I can't see how crossing a picket line will make Huckabee look good. In fact, I hope all our Democratic Candidates stay away from his show until this strike is over.

11. He really didn't have much choice. He doesn't own the show, the network
does. He couldn't cut a deal with the WGA like Letterman's production company did. To Leno's credit, he is paying the striking writers out of his pocket. Not a fan of Leno, but do like his financial support of his writers.

17. He's a turd, but TV is about capturing eyes. If Huck helps ratings,
Leno would be stupid not to book him.

19. Oh, I know
But as I said, this is about Huckabee's choice to cross a picket line, not Jay's.

23. He's a Republican so he has to cross picket lines to put the lumpen in
their place.

4. Huckabee's a nut job, which translates into good ratings
I don;t think Leno even considered politics. I think he's seen the same Huckabee stories the rest of us have and decided that his audience would turn in to watch a freak show. That's Leno.

5. Haven't you noticed all the exposure Huckster is getting?
He says he does not have much money, but that is not stopping the media.

I saw him on 60 Minutes. I turned on the radio the other day and he was being interviewed on NPR. Some of this exposure came even before his big surge.

I don't think the repuke establishment wants him. So what is going on?

22. The Repuke Establishment Does Not Want to Live Under a Theocracy…
Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 05:41 PM by AndyTiedye
…but some of them would be quite content to live above one, like the sheikhs of Saudi Arabia.

If you want to make sure that the people do not rebel, no matter what you do to them, a theocracy is by far the most effective way to accomplish that end.

Here in CA a lot of us will never forget his on air blow job of Ahnuld Titzengrabber before the recall election. Leno ain't funny and I'll be happy when he gets replaced by O'Brien.

7. Huckabee actively pursues being on TV shows
Now Obama doesn't bother, because he has Oprah. Why spend time managing and arranging for a few piddling shows on a few piddling late night TV spots when you have the Queen of daytime TV on your side?

McCain looks into the TV shows as well.

Don't know how the others feel about it.

15. The HUCK committing HUCKACIDE live will beat Robin WILLIAMS on Dave
Even with the MINIMAL questioning by LENO, the HUCK's nuttiness is a wreck you can't take your eyes off. Now, I like Robin, in very small doses. He'll throw in a tidbit or so of Shrub bashing, which is fine, but it's mostly a tried and true, or tired, act.

I'd like to see a wingnut self COMBUSTING live. If it can't be O'LOOFAH, for now, this one will do fine.

But overall, I agree with the posts about LENO's Rethug shilling. There's no doubt about his kissing up to Ahhnuld and others.

24. LBN: "Huckster unveils ad only to disavow it" - See what I mean?!1
Jon STEWERT could make mincemeat of the Huckman without the Huckman's even knowing it. There's a wealth of comic and profound material there to work with. But LENO will prolly let him slide.

Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 05:06 PM by Stephanie
He'll cross the picket line and work without his writers. He's going to suck even worse than he used to. Nobody will watch and he'll be known forever as a scab who didn't stand by his colleagues. Who cares who his guest is, it's going to be a train wreck.
