The Bhutto assassination - myths and facts about the cover-up
Edited on Tue Jan-01-08 08:15 AM by Satyagrahi
I do believe that there is clear evidence of a cover-up. However, bad reporting by the MSM seems to have created some myths and a lot of confusion, notably:

- The Pakistani government never claimed that Bhutto's death was a "freak accident".

In fact, the official position always was that she died as a result of the shock wave, the energy released by the blast of the suicide bombing:

"Benazir Bhutto died from a fractured skull caused by hitting her head on part of her car's sunroof as a bomb ripped through a crowd of her supporters, a spokesman for Pakistan's Interior Ministry said Friday.

"When she was thrown by the force of the shockwave of the explosion, unfortunately one of the levers of the sunroof hit her," said spokesman Brigadier Javed Iqbal Cheema."

- The Pakistani government never denied that shots were fired.

In fact, the first video which shows a gunman firing at least three shots in the direction of Bhutto was released by the Pakistani government at the same press conference on Friday (but Cheema claimed that all three shots missed her).

- The claim that Police 'prevented Bhutto autopsy' is misleading.

The police did ask Bhutto's husband for permission, but he refused:

"However, Aziz denied that he refused to authorize an autopsy.

"I have not told anyone about stopping the post-mortem," he told The Associated Press. "It is a legal requirement, but again it is dependent upon the legal heirs of the deceased."

In a news conference Sunday, Bhutto's widowed husband, Asif Ali Zardari, confirmed that he had refused a request to perform an autopsy, saying he did not trust the government of President Pervez Musharraf to carry out a credible investigation. He also rejected the government's account about his wife's death as "lies.""

"On Sunday, Ms. Bhutto’s husband, Mr. Zardari, said he received a call from the Punjab home secretary on Thursday evening with a request for his permission for a post-mortem examination. He said he refused because he did not trust the government investigation to prove the cause of her death."

However, there is clear evidence that the official version can't be true.

This video obtained by Channel 4 shows that Bhutto had already fallen into the car when the suicide blast happened:

The car was bomb-proof and would have sheltered her from the shock wave of the explosion. Her head was already well below the lever of the sunroof which supposedly hit her. Thus, the official version seems to contradict the laws of physics...

1. A frame by frame account
on the news here in the UK, by a ballistics expert, indicated that the sequence of events was that a shot was fired which appeared to hit her. She then dropped down into the car and may have hit the sunroof handle on the way down. The car itself was both bullet proof and bomb proof with regard to shrapnel.

My understanding is that she's dead and so outstanding fraud charges against her are unlikely to be pursued.

2. Even according to the official report she had a large wound above her
right ear:

"There was wound in right Temporoparietal region. Shape was irregularly oval, measuring about 5 x 3 cms, just above the pinna of right ear."

I doubt that you get that by falling down and accidentally hitting a sunroof handle.

3. With brain matter seen oozing out of the wound.
That can't be from a fall.
