What Happened To Mike Gravel?
I thought he was a nice compliment to Ron Paul, but I haven't seen him around for a while. What's up?

3. He has no money, but he's been running ads in the local NH papers.
Which is all he can afford to do. His ads are full page and to the point. They emphasize the total corruption in Washington.

I turns out Gravel isn't even running those ads, they are from this guy:

For the past two weeks, readers of the state's biggest newspapers may have noticed some unusual advertisements. The full-page ads, with their stripped-down design, lacking flair or photographs, deliver a blunt message: Support Mike Gravel, the former Alaska senator campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Wait a minute. How is Gravel, who's struggled to raise money and is waaaaay in back of the pack, able to afford full-page ads in the Union Leader, Nashua Telegraph and Concord Monitor day after day?

He can thank Gregory Chase.

4. I'm mystified why he doesn't get more support.
I agree with everything he said in the first debate.

If he's not a serious candidate, whose fault is it?

His own? The media's? Too far ahead of the American People?

If Gravel announced that he was hiring oil-shock theorists
to advance the (scientifically valid) notion that our entire
economy is about to collapse because of the end of cheap oil
and we must prepare for decades of retrenchment and abandon
our plans to be a free-market naval empire like ancient Athens,
what would American voters do? Denounce him as a crackpor?

5. I met him
and he is not crazy. He makes a lot of sense and it is a shame the way he has been treated by the press.

9. I like Gravel
Unfortunately, many people weren't alive when he was instrumental in releasing the Pentagon Papers.

I know money isn't everything in politics, but you have to raise a little bit. He's raised just $300,000, and has around $20,000 cash on hand. He's officially been kicked out of the top tier of candidates, and is now a fringe candidate like LaRouche or some of the lesser candidates running exclusively in New Hampshire.
