1. They're all trash
not worth spending a dime on.

2. Been there,
done that.

They've lost lots of readership and subscriptions, as have others.

4. I canceled my subscription
earlier this year. My boycott has started already.

Sometimes it's useful to read it to get an idea of what the front leading propaganda line is on a given subject. But that's different than using it as an actual information source. And I refuse to give them any more money to fund their gross complicity.

5. I cancelled my subscription after they refused to cover Ohio.
I don't even recognize that paper any more.

6. They have the best crossword puzzle around.
But I do get it from my local paper, don't often buy the Times anyway.

7. I think almost every newspaper in America features both liberal and conservative...
columnists on the op-ed page. To find opinion pages with only liberal commentary, I think we have to go to some weekly papers, liberal magazines, and online to Huff Post, TPM, etc.

11. I have no problem having a variety of opinions.
But this man should have no place in any newspaper, except one of Murdoch's rag-mags.

8. Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel
Legitimizing neoconservatism by giving Kristol a paid column is nothing short of irresponsible. I don't buy the NYTimes nor would I. Let their corporate sponsors suck it up, or even better, let them go out of business. They aren't doing their job anyway.

9. I agree that it's very disturbing. Also, Newsweek is giving Karl Rove
a column. :wtf:

10. Only works for people who actually subscribe to it, like New Yorkers
I don't think this actually has any legs.

13. you still buy the NYT? why?
me? gawd no! that paper is utter pap. the Grey Lady has always been a sordid character. well, for generations at the very least. why waste hard earned green on her when you can just check it out at the library, pick it up off the gutter/bus seat, or check a blurb online? save your money for something truly worth it like Sunset magazine or something. mmmm, glossy photos of beautiful gardens...

it's time to kick NYT to the curb if you haven't done so already. but i must say you are a bit behind the times. well, spread the word to the unaware at least. there's far worse damning indictments against the NYT besides Kristol, though, if you truly want to hurt readership.

14. Ridiculous. NYT is the best paper in the world, IMO.
You can read Kristol or not. Why would you care whether others do?

.... and despite their numerous f**k-ups since 2000, and their war cheerleading, they've also done more to investigate BushCo than any other MSM news source.

18. I cancelled my subscription
in disgust at the time of L'affaire Judith Miller and the Times Executive Suite playing snuggly-wuggly with the Bush regime and witholding stories/news/facts at the request of the regime. The Gray Lady is just a whore these days, and a cheap one at that. Generations of my ancestors (all religious, lifelong Times subscribers) are turning over in their graves and I DO miss the Sunday Crossword.
