FEC Reporting Deadlines Favor Stealth Edwards Supporters/Clinton "Turncoats"
Edited on Sat Dec-29-07 01:58 PM by CorpGovActivist
I will make a prediction here and now: the January 31st report - the http://www.fec.gov/ans/answers_filing.shtml#whendue">next regular report due - will show some very surprising former Clinton supporters' names, as will the April 15th report.

Pledges of January 2 wire transfers and checks to the Edwards campaign allow his managers and strategists to proceed with campaign spending confidently, and the report for Q1 isn't due until April 15th.

2. Equally-Applied Rules Don't Lead to Equal Results...
... and in this case, my premise is predicated on the number of prominent past Clinton supporters who - not eager to have their "turncoat" decision aired prematurely - will have waited until the moment (January 2nd) when their giving can have maximum benefit to their candidate of choice, with minimum repurcussions to themselves personally.

I'll even wager that we'll see in-depth stories about the phenom, so pronounced will it be.

3. To Further Refine the Premise...
... I'd wager that some of those names show up on Obama's list, too, but I think the lion's share will go to Edwards.

6. The Edwards Campaign has NOT been worried about a massive fundraising effort because...
... just for the reason you stated, they know what is coming in that has yet to be reported publicly.

7. Platinum Pledges...
... allow a campaign manager to proceed with utmost confidence.

And, oh, the stories that will be written about the long list of "turncoats" who finally publicly parted with the Clintons ...

8. This may be the election in which the MSM picks (Giuliani/Clinton) both implode ...
... after a year of constant promotion as being 'inevitable.'
