1. Another possible recess appointment successfully blocked!
I don't care if none was planned, I'm just glad it couldn't happen thanks to the for once PROACTIVISM of the Democrats.

3. Wow! I hope your post doesn't sink in the flurry of recent events.
It may not be sexy, but it is definitely worth noting.

13. To be effective, every three days during a recess. From the Senate site (I had to look it up myself)
pro forma session - A brief meeting (sometimes only several seconds) of the Senate in which no business is conducted. It is held usually to satisfy the constitutional obligation that neither chamber can adjourn for more than three days without the consent of the other.

16. how much airplay is this getting in the MSM?
The public should be aware that the Senate now has to do this to keep the Bastard in Chief in line - at least as far as recess appointments going. It's like dealing with a freaking evil child.

Any of the talking heads making note of this?

18. I did see a mention last time
Jim Webb called the Senate into session. It was reported on ABC briefly. They also mentioned why he'd done it.

Not as much as I'd like, of course, but something.

20. Thank you Senator Dorgan!
And may I take this opportunity to push his book, "Take This Job and Ship It: How Corporate Greed and Brain-Dead Politics Are Selling Out America." It's a very good read & one that even many repubs will identify with.
