Rudy Ghouliani was a fucking MAYOR!
A MAYOR! That's IT. Nothing more. And if he WAS anything more, I don't know about it so it means SHIT. Jesus, why does CNN keep yammering on that he has experience in security and terrorism? God, I can't wait til a dem is elected so Rudy goes away and marries someone else.

2. A fairly disliked person who happened to be mayor on one particular day.
They day security was shown to have failed and the communications system in the city he was mayor of failed. I don't understand why this is supposed to be good.

is how to use it as an excuse to make life miserable for everyone. He loves barricades, random searches, us vs them attitudes, and full-on blitzes against any area that has brown people in it.

He was one of the shittiest, most arrogant and punitive mayors this city has ever had.
x(

Anyone who votes for that bastard deserves to have him as their president. I just wish they could take him without us having to take him too.

9. experience
His experience at Security: He turned City Hall into an armed camp, way, way before 9/11.

Terrorism: you mean after the first WTC bombing (1993) and he didn't do anything that 9/11 happened on his watch.

Funny he should use those as his experience.....

47. No - not in the towers
It was in WTC #7 - the smaller building that fell (48 stories IIRC). It also happened to be where they were storing some kind of fuel in case of emergency. How stupid was that?!!

And while he did clean up the city and I will give him some credit for that (crime rates had already started falling fast under Dinkins), on September 10, he wouldn't have gotten elected dog catcher. His police department (under the mob-connected Kerik) was out of control and the way he treated his wife and family was shameful. All so he could screw his whore of a mistress.

Thats the basis. Nothing in the Consititution calls for any experience at anything. Abe Lincoln was a practicing attorney. If being a two term governor doesnt count, how do we justify electing a two term Georgia or Arkansas governor.

50. Not defending either Bush or Reagan
merely pointing out that they were elected to the Presidency because they were both two term governors in Texas and California. Nor am I attacking President Carter or President Clinton because their political experience was similar except that both two term governors of Georgia and Arkansas. I believe my original premise is that the Constitution does not specify any qualification for the Office of the President other than being born a U.S. citizen and being over the age of 35.

at the scene of a terrorist attack in 1993. Who would say he didn't believe/recognize the 1993 bombing of World Trade was a terrorist attack. DUH. Who would buy the FDNY radios that he knew didn't work but reissued them causing untold deaths of firefighters who never heard the order to get out. Who wouldn't have the courage to let his wife and the mother of his children know he was leaving her, he did it on television. Who would let 141 firefighter and untold civilians remains to be buried at the Fresh Kills landfill so he could clean up the city. Rudy was a hated man on 9/10/01 and people could wait for him to be gone.

33. To be fair, NYC is bigger than some states...
on the other hand...

6. Rudy Giuliani

Charges: 9/11 Tourette's syndrome, compounded by compulsive lying. Despite the '93 WTC bombing, didn't act to put all first responders on the same radio frequency and chose to house his Emergency Command Center on the 23rd floor of WTC 7. Giuliani Partners consulting firm routinely did business with a Qatar ministry run by royal Abdallah bin Khalid al-Thani, a man whose farm has seen guests the likes of Khalid Sheikh Muhammad and Osama bin Laden. Wooed mistress and future wife with an NYPD chauffeur and trips to Southampton on NYC taxpayers' dime. Ruined the prospect of a Times Square tug-job.

Exhibit A: Stages phone calls from his wife during campaign stops-to show 'em he's got family values. Family values apparently do not include rudimentary put-it-on-vibrate cell phone etiquette. Invoked 9/11 to explain this.

Sentence: Victim of the next 9/11, which consists of two radio-controlled hobby planes smashing into his face.

The NYC budget is like the 3 or 4 largest in the world. NYC has more different people of the world than any other. It is a Country within a State and within the US.

As home to the UN is is the most savvy political foreign policy state on the globe.

And it doesn't play well in Peoria.

Terrorists can walk and so can Ghouliani. In fact, that's all he did on 9/11. Walk and walk and walk and walk. Why wasn't he safe in his bunker after such an attack and manning the command center? Because it was blown to hell. If that's good experience we're in big trouble.

48. His bunker was blown to hell because he insisted on putting it under the World Trade Center
Edited on Fri Dec-28-07 08:36 AM by bklyncowgirl
The experts said put it in Brooklyn, Rudy said no, Brooklyn's too far away. It should be close to City Hall--you know--like in the World Trade Center--that's the ticket. That way it's close enough for nooners with Christie, er I mean Judy--er I mean meetings with Bernie--er I mean meetings with the emergency service heads.

The main reason that we have that great footage of Guiliani hurrying down the street with the tower collapsing behind him is because he was stupid enough to put his command bunker in terrorist target numero uno and no one should be allowed to forget it. Maybe, just maybe, if the command and control center of NYC hadn't gone up in smoke some of those brave firefighters might have gotten the warning to pull out.

52. He has plenty of security experience:
He considers it proper police procedure:

1) to shove a wooden plunger handle up a detainee's anus and then down his mouth;
2) for undercover officers toshoot and kill someone with whom they have provoked a fight (without identifying themselves as police officers);
3) to open and release sealed records in an attempt to smear a victim of procedure 2;
4) for groups of plain-clothed officers patrolling in unmarked cars (thus resembling, to the naked eye, a bunch of thugs out looking for trouble) to open fire on any "suspicious person" who fails to telepathically read their minds and instantly know they are upstanding police officers looking out for the public good, and instead reaches for his keys, his wallet, or some other mundane item.

With experience like that, it's a wonder he's not already part of the Bush Administration.
