Bush to air speech in 40 minutes on Pakistan
We have an early text of his statement:

"Today, we regret that benny Bhutto died in Pakististan. I call on prime minister Moo-sheriff to find the killers and bring him to justice. We have close ties to Pakististan and we support its democracy in a dangerous land. Our heart and mind go out to Benny's family. Moo-sheriff is not only a good man, but a strong leader, and we and pakiststan need such a man in these tough times.

"As some of you know, we sent a thousand troops to help Moo-Sheriff and his army and we will increase that number."

"Now some of you in the press asked about the nucular weapons in Pakistant. Let me be clear. There is no danger. I have been assured by my friend and partner in the war on terra, mr. Moo-Sheriff, that all safety proctocals are working and there is absolutely no danger. Pakistastan is a safe democracy. It is a good alley. It is a good friend. Moo-Sheriff is a good man and a good friend. And we offer him all support."

"I am sending Condi Rice to help."

2. Yeah, he is taping a message at Crawford
I take that to mean that he isn't sober enough to go live and they want to edit the tape. There has to be some reason they are putting out a tape instead of showing him live.

5. Let's hope he gets his geography and names right
But I wouldn't bet money on it

This is the same guy who couldn't name the President of Pakistan (along with many other world leaders) in that famous interview when he was running for President. And there's little to suggest he's improved

7. It's time for Bush to reevaluate strategies in the War on Terror
Pretending that Iraq is the central theater isn't working anymore.

Maybe it's time to capture or the kill the leaders of Al Qaeda and put a special focus on averting total disaster in Pakistan.

9. cheney would never let him.
wanna bet that cheney is dictating what bush will say? clearly condi won't be involved, other than to nod and look at bush with worshiping eyes, telling him that he is briliant.

10. You forgot: "We need to get the Indians and the PAKIS to work together."
(This term is used here in quotation and not intended as an ethnic or racial slur.)

11. MSNBC: "For the President to interrupt his vacation, it underscores the importance of
Pakistan's national security." Oh, for God's sakes ! Interrupt his vacation to make a statement... he's the freakin CiC. Maybe he should just keep reading My Pet Goat.

12. It's probably wrong of me to say this,
but I have no interest in what * has to say about this. If i thought for one micro-second the thoughts were actually his, I may. All he will do is read a statement some one else wrote for him as he is incapable of independent thought.

15. ...
prez aid: oh jeez, why couldn't she be assassinated before 10am?

other aid: damn it, I think we only have decaf left.

prez aid: christ on a pogo stick, that ain't gonna do it!!

other aid: maybe if we slap him* around a bit?

prez aid: no way, the guy* has a head like a brick. what do to?

other aid: is there a starbucks around?

prez aid gives the other aid a very dry look.

prez aid: we are in the middle of fucking no where, what do you think?

other aid: wait, I know a good way to sober him up!!!

the other aid knocks on the prez*'s bedroom door. mumbling emits from behind the door.

prez aid: what have you got in mind?

other aid: shush! mr. prez*? Laura is here and she's all frisky!!

The sound of stumbling, glass breaking and a cat screech startle the two aids.

prez*: I'm up! I'm up! get me my standing still shoes, now!!

prez aid: damn, like cold water on a passed out drunk.

other aid: you have to work on your metaphors, dude.
