It's always worse than they're willing to say.

10. she was no saint, and had serious legal problems and issues,
but she was far better than Musharif.

This death will be a major disaster for Pakistan. And for Bush.

22. absolutely. This can start WWIII.
The ultras in the military apparently have made a deal with the ultrareligious muslims. Kashmir negotiations will stop. India will raise its own level of security out of a sense of self-preservation.

Iran, which tried to warn the US about Pakistan will have problems.
Israel, which wants any excuse to attack Iran, may just do so under the cover of extreme confusion and growing tensions.

And George, that SOB, will say, "Not my fault", when actually his policies have led to this cluster fuck.

There is no win win here. For anyone. Bhutto offered the most peaceful, least violent way out of an international quagmire.

My husband is from India and we are very familiar with what's going on in the region. This could get really scary, really fast.

Apparently she wasn't close enough to the bomb to be injured by it. More likely the bomb was a distraction, or just trying to get her supporters.

24. Odd reports
CNN's website is reporting that her husband said that she was shot in the neck. It possibly wasn't the bombing itself that killed her.

My paranoid little mind came to this conclusion--IF this is true (big IF), this was a coordinated attack. Use the bombing as a distraction to move Bhutto's bodyguards out of position, then deliver a kill shot. Don't leave it to chance that she would be killed in the bombing.

IF this is true--then Musharraf's fingerprints are all over this.

Bhutto was assasinated because she was a democratically elected woman of power which in itself is an affront to those whackjobs known as Al Qaeda. Make no mistake about it, this was as much religiously motivated as political.

72. It's NOT TRUE.
"Mrs. Bhutto's family history is intertwined with Pakistani politics — and violence. Her father, Zulkifar Ali Bhutto, was prime minister until his government was overthrown by a military coup in 1977. Bhutto himself was tried, found guilty of organizing a political murder, and executed by hanging in 1979. Mrs. Bhutto's brothers then organized a splinter of the Pakistan People's Party known as the Al-Zulfikar Organization, which was marginalized as terrorist. One brother, Shahnawaz Bhutto, died under shadowy circumstances in Paris in 1985. The second, Mir Murtaza Bhutto, was shot to death by police in 1996, during Mrs. Bhutto's second term as prime minister."

IF a direct connection between Musharraf supporters to those who carried out this assassination is exposed, we will see a huge uprising in Pakistan --and Musharraf will likely use the Military to put it down.

Terrorist attacks are designed for the sole purpose of creating fear and chaos, which this killing will do. But, more than likely, this act was intended to change the outcome of the January election.
