Which Highly-Disciplined and Experienced Iowa Campaign Urged College Students...
... to arrange their exams and second semester schedules in such a way as to allow them to be available under the new Iowa caucus schedule?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071225/pl_nm/usa_politics_students_dc_1;_ylt=AvoAGnInyRN_hN4DeQ7fiRIE1vAI">Student break makes Christmas tough for U.S. campaigns, Jeremy Pelofsky, Reuters.

"We have a strong field organization and dedicated staff and volunteers, so we've planned and organized to navigate the holiday schedule," said Colleen Murray, a spokeswoman for Edwards.

"We have made sure those who did travel will be able to get back to work to help us in the final days leading up to the caucuses," she said.

Further inquiry reveals that - as soon as the new caucus date was announced - a special campaign memo went out to college students working for Edwards, giving tips on how to re-arrange exams, offering assistance and letters to schedule make-ups, and giving tips on how to get college credit for campaign work that falls between semesters.

2. Not Some of the Key Ones...
... which adhere to the English system; first semester finals take place in January, and the second semester begins in January.

3. I don't have a problem with this.
Frankly I don't see why Iowa gets to make this decision for us all the time. If they give us another loser I think they should be stripped of this right.

4. A Campaign That Takes Care of Its College Students...
... finds that its college students reciprocate.

As for Iowa's special role: I like their method, but don't think they should be the first to apply it each go-around.

5. Yup. It should rotate every year.
Everybody needs a real say in our primary system.

6. I Give Them Due Credit for the Caucus Rules, Though...
... those things are brilliant adaptations of Athenian Democracy at its height.

I'd like to see their caucus rules used, with the state applying them rotated.
