Should the legal definition of a 'person' be changed to say an embryo is a person?
Our local right-wing Clear Channel "news" station in Houston has this as the Question of the Day posted in response to a news story from Colorado of some anti-choice people trying to get the Colorado constitution changed to redifine "person."

Here's the link. Please vote up this poll.

Right now the results are as follows:

Yes - 48.48%
No - 51.57%

2. Only if they undefine a corporation as one

Otherwise the whole concept of personhood is absurd

3. The hell with embryos ..... what about corporations?
There is NO case to be made that they 'deserve' personhood.

5. What about corporate embryos?
Or embryonic corporations? :silly:

But I agree, the "corporation as a person" merely defiles the Constution...

6. Done, K&R
The concept is just frightening. I can imagine being prosecuted for things when my actions infringed upon the rights of a fetus inside me. Think of the kinds of invasive laws that could be written if this came to pass.

13. Can we waterboard or place embryos in stress positions?
Edited on Fri Dec-21-07 06:05 PM by Ezlivin
Or can we hold an embryo as an unlawful enemy combatant if it's found in the womb of an al Qaeda operative?

After those questions are answered I think we can discuss it further.
