Let's see. Julie Annie is toast. Dread Thompson is burnt toast.
Pastor Huck and Elder Mittens both feel a presidential campaign should be run like a circus tent revival, and to Hell with non-believers.

And McCain thinks the surge is working. No, not that surge, although he certainly embraces that idea as well. This would be the surge in his electibility with the rest of the crowd turning into toast or Jimmy Swaggart. Hold on to that dream, John.

Do any of the repubs seriously stand a chance against any of the top three Democrats?

Maureen Dowd said it best a week or so ago: "The Democrats are blessed with an embarrassment of riches (in candidates). the Republicans simply have the embarrassment."

2. Tom can get to work doing what he loves best
stringing barbed wire fences on the Mexican border.

And there's always Ron Paul, who may become the GOP's Nader in a close election.

3. I read a letter in Salon's story about McCain yesterday in which
an army guy described McCain during his Baghdad market last spring--he said McCain was like a confused nursing home patient, shuffling his feet and snapping at everybody. I pray to God he doesn't get anywhere near the WH, or we're going to have Reagan circa 1988 for at least four years. I also think he's on some sort of medication--sometimes he just looks drugged.

9. Well Tweets always pronounces it that way, it's his
Full-dulfia accent. (I know because I have one too, but I don't say Julie Annie, I say Ghouliani!!)

Fuck the GOP and fuck Bush.

7. If Republicans had anyone who could govern, we wouldn't have Bush!
I have long been predicting Huckabee, until his recent surge stared bringing out his bugs. It looks to me now like it's McCain, by elimination. Infirmities not withstanding, senility has not stopped Republicans before. They are always just front men.

8. The repubbies may be stuck with Hucky yet..
especially if the Evangelical zombies turn out to the polls, it could look like a sequel to "Night Of The Living Dead". I suspect the rest of the repubbie base will sit this one out for the most part, or go for RoPaul.

10. I Hope Not! The Huckster Could Win
As you may have noticed, Evangelical zombies always have about 150% turnout in elections these days.

Even discounting the inflation of Fundie voting influence by election fraud, HRC is LOSING to the Huskster in the latest polls.

Huckabee: Huckabee leads 48%-43%

It isn't going to get any better with the Mighty Slime Machine pounding on her during the general election campaign.

Huckabee: Obama leads 47%-42%
Huckabee: Edwards leads 47%-41%

This is a little better, but still close enough to steal.

13. Huck is too much of a Christian for GOP Christians to vote for.
He has raised taxes to help poor children. He has encouraged fair treatment for the children of illegals. He has been soft on crime by believing criminals can be rehabilitated.

No way a man like that can win the votes of America's conservative "Christians."

14. Exactly right, Hucky is not a FAUX Christian..
he's the real deal, therefore, the repubbie base will hate him.

16. Pretty much. He doesn't believe in evolution...

He thinks creationism should be taught in the schools as well. To be fair he did allow that some things in the bible are open to interpretation. But I would call him a fundamentalist.

11. I predict RoPaul will be the pub's Nader this election
unless it's simply stolen outright again by e-machine or other election fraud.

And that would be assuming their candidate is even close enough in the general election for the Paul zealots to make a difference.

12. I predict McCain will be the GOP nominee...
by process of elimination.

He is the only prominent, halfway honest GOP candidate who is not carrying VERY heavy baggage.

17. That's my thesis too.
I would have picked Huckabee, before I became aware of his transgressions. McCain, who I've long thought of as crazy, appears more sane than the others. Now if Thompson comes out of his coma...
