Time Magazine downsizes Bill Kristol and Charles Krauthammer. But it gets better
At risk of sounding tacky, they seem to have replaced these overpaid American workers with cheap Indian labor. This is tacky in that the Indian in question is actually an American who just happens to be of Indian ancestry. I should be ashamed of myself. But the overpriced windbags are gone from Time. Boys, ya should've formed a union and gotten a contract before The Man stuck it to ya!

via Crooks and Liars:
Two conservative Time magazine columnists are on their way out the door: Neither William Kristol nor longtime contributor Charles Krauthammer will be on contract with the magazine starting next month. Mr. Krauthammer confirmed the news to Off the Record, and a spokeswoman for Time said Mr. Kristol’s contract would not be renewed.

The exact reasons for the departures of Mr. Krauthammer and Mr. Kristol, both high-profile backers of the Iraq war, are not entirely clear.
But sadly, we’re not completely rid of rightwing hackery at Time:
And according to two sources familiar with the discussions, Time is in negotiations with National Review editor Ramesh Ponnuru to sign him to a contributor contract. Mr. Ponnuru, who in 2006 published The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life, has written twice for the magazine over the past month.

All the same evil, but for less than half the price! Time's got good business sense.

1. I think they broke their record by pushing for Iran War
Poor little neocons, sent to bed w/o a third war in the Middle East. Nothing but coal in their Christmas stocking this year.

3. Dude's from Kansas. Now we know what's the matter with Kansas.
It produces motards like Ramesh Ponnuru. I'm certain that's a hat tip the abortion issue. Remember the old Jim Hightower line: conservatives believe life begins at conception and ends at birth.

6. That's the difference between you and Republicans.
When you don't understand something, you shut up. You'll never be a Republican.

7. I wouldn't say that "Editor of the National Review" is a man with no resume.
He's not a bad writer in terms of mechanics. He's just a bad thinker.

8. You don't have to be totally ashamed - you didn't say that an Indian was replacing two Israelis
Edited on Thu Dec-20-07 11:11 PM by entanglement
or a Catholic was replacing a pair of Jews, did you?. I suppose you're due some credit for that. A round of applause for our semi-enlightened friend Bucky.

9. It's a shame Joe Klein didn't exit with them
But as you so wittily pointed out, it's not a leftward shift, they're just getting more propaganda for their dollar. Time remains an odious megaphone for right-wingers.
