Kucinich supporters?
You guys seem to have quietened down significantly, so I was wondering if some of you have decided to switch to another candidate.
I saw that Edwards had a small surge in Iowa, and thought that might be some of the Kucinich camp bailing to support a top 3 candidate.

Yes,no?

2. He's getting my vote.
Even if it is a 'waste' I'd rather vote for him than the popular people. He's got the power.

5. Not a chance
even in the general.

Why would anyone want to go from Kucinich to the others? No comparison and no way.

6. We're sad and respectful about Dennis' brother's passing
and watching YouTubes about the fact that Dennis escaped assassination because of a sudden illeness... like somebody's watching out for him...

I'm just tired of arguing with those who aren't supporting the only real progressive candidate. ;)

8. I am still planning to vote for Dennis
and I am still donating to the Kucinich campaign. However, I may chose to cast a strategic vote for Obama or Edwards if it is a close race between Clinton and one of those two candidates by the time my primary rolls around.

...so I'm trying hard just to keep giving a fuck.

15. If the Democratic party had spent half the effort courting non-voters that they have...
...pandering to "moderates," we'd have had a solid Democratic majority since 2004, if not earlier.

I'll probably go Kucinich - or maybe Dodd. None of them thrill me.

20. I'm still waffling.
I've got Dodd up for my avatar in honor of his stopping the telecom immunity bill. I'm leaning towards Edwards but I'm just not that committed right now. Personally I would rather we not take any Senate Democrats and run them for president if it means losing another seat in the Senate.

All of the vile and hateful posts by the supporters of the "electable" candidates is enough to drive normal people off of this site.

24. Yes, a lot of them are gone.
Not all because of the vile posts against K but because the dialog here has become intolerable in many areas. There are a lot of great sites out there. I even post on one where many are Republicans and Kucinich gets more respect from them than he does from the "Democrats" here. Says a lot doesn't it?

I finally used my Ignore button. Funny, I only used it on the people who just hop into any K thread and spread the same nastiness they have been using for as long as I can remember. Without feeling the need to explain over and over that their "info" has been proven false and without having to read their flame bait topics my time here has become a bit more tolerable. Still, much of my time is spent far from DU. I hope the level of dialog comes back after the election. I think the inmates are taking over the asylum for now anyway. Whatever, they feel the same about me I am certain so I will continue to post in places where the R's are more tolerant than many of the D's here and try to be more selective about the threads I do open here. That way I can still love much about the DU :).

25. Oh, I don't think they left due to meanness about Kucinich
I agree, the dialog in general has just been awful.

My ignore button is only used for people that are personally attacking other posters. I don't need to read their stuff. If they have to attack, they'll never be posting anything insightful anyway.

I try to avoid the political threads. There are a lot of intelligent people here posting interesting news bits from around the world. That's the reason I stay.

People are freaking out about the economy, and that is something that I can shed some light on. But the threads fill with baloney so fast that my post is never seen. Or I'll post a full page about a subject, and get back one-line zingers.

If we think the discourse is bad now, 6 months from now, it's going to be frothy as hell.

26. I think they
left because of that and because it causes the dialog to be mean and as you say, generally awful.

I never used the Ignore except for a 24 hour cooling off period for me. Now is different, I just can't take the vileness and the stupidity anymore. I am also avoiding the political threads except to support Dennis.

I stay for the same reason you do. You can't beat this place for getting news and if one is carefully selective there is some great dialog to be read or to have.

6 months from now? I will probably have to leave one way or the other.

It's just not my style to shove my candidate down everyone's throats. Also, a large number here already support the man.

27. We're quiet because we are working our assess off for Dennis
and no, we will not convert to a sell out democrat like Edwards, Biden, Clinton, or Abominable...

We know Dennis is in it for the longhaul and while the other candidates beat each other up in January, we are going to take the February Caucus states.

I can pretty say that Washington state is now 100% solidly Kucinich.
