PHOTOS: Nazis & church leaders (in honor of Huckabee)
The GOP frontrunner is the next generation of Elmer Gantry Republicans.

It's worth remembering that the Nazis and other fascists had a very close relationship with churches as well.

Fascism is actually a very good fit to certain church dogma. Both believe in a god-ordained hierarchy in society, and both demand unreasoning loyalty.

The difference between Huckabee and someone like Bush is Huckabee might actually believe it instead of just seeing it as a way to get the suckers in the tax cut and privatization tent.

4. He was just a kid when he was throwing the Nazi salute
I'm not going to give him shit about it anymore than I'll hold those little kids in the "pro-life" protests that are being made to hold up a picture of an aborted fetus.

Of course, he could be in one of those pictures... :-)

7. "Evangelical" in Germany means Lutheran or other Protestant...
Edited on Thu Dec-20-07 02:35 PM by kineneb
means "Christian, non-Catholic, non-Orthodox", does not carry same meaning as in American English...

hence, those were Protestant Nazis

ed for spelling

8. Aw shucks...a feller can dream can't he?!?!?
Thanks for the correction.

Although in Eastern Europe "Evangelisti" are usually American Missionaries' creations. As obnoxious and equivalent to their counterparts here.
