but I'd like to post an appreciation thread for my wife. My last post made me think of this and I've decided to share a little about the woman who shares my life with you all. They say that behind every great man there's a woman. Well, this isn't QUITE the same tale. I'm not "great." I'll settle for "good."
Let's start with her job. I won't go into many details, other than to say she has a fairly good one, particularly when one considers the fate of most in the service sector.
On top of this, she owns and acts as webmistress for one of the web's largest book review sites. Since her acquisition of the site, they've gained several new contracts with big name publishers. She just received a WAY advance copy of the new J.D. Robb novel.
Not only does she do the web work, she also reviews and edits other reviewers.
On top of that, she is the current Chair of the Board of Directors for our local pagan organization, a job she took only because the former Chair embezzled several thousand dollars and nearly destroyed an organization we originally helped build.
She also just picked up a new hobby. Making jewelry. For the first time in her life, she's realized she actually has a creative side.
She handles the household finances and we make most of the large financial decisions together. But even with all her obligations, she handles everything as deftly as I'd ever imagine.
Sometimes she simply amazes me.
I work, I write, I do most of the housework and the greater amount of the cooking. And I'm the one who follows politics. Frankly, she doesn't have the time.
I can say I would not be as successful a writer as I am if not for her.
